Since 2000 the A112 has seen 4,698 collisions, 18 of them fatal and 559 serious. That ranks it 75th of 6,754 numbered A, B and M roads by total recorded collisions. Its fatal rate is 3.8 per 1,000 collisions, and 12% caused death or serious injury. Collisions have fallen by about 43% since 2000, from 272 to 154 in 2024. The heaviest local concentrations are in Waltham Forest, Newham and Epping Forest.
