Since 2000 the A153 has seen 1,149 collisions, 36 of them fatal and 192 serious. That ranks it 422nd of 6,754 numbered A, B and M roads by total recorded collisions. Its fatal rate is 31.3 per 1,000 collisions, and 20% caused death or serious injury. Collisions have fallen by about 25% since 2000, from 55 to 41 in 2024. The heaviest local concentrations are in North Kesteven, East Lindsey and South Kesteven.
