Since 2000 the A219 has seen 5,487 collisions, 25 of them fatal and 771 serious. That ranks it 55th of 6,754 numbered A, B and M roads by total recorded collisions. Its fatal rate is 4.6 per 1,000 collisions, and 15% caused death or serious injury. Collisions have fallen by about 45% since 2000, from 303 to 168 in 2024. The heaviest local concentrations are in Hammersmith and Fulham, Wandsworth and Merton.
