Since 2000 the A560 has seen 1,890 collisions, 19 of them fatal and 198 serious. That ranks it 235th of 6,754 numbered A, B and M roads by total recorded collisions. Its fatal rate is 10.1 per 1,000 collisions, and 11% caused death or serious injury. Collisions have fallen by about 80% since 2000, from 148 to 30 in 2024. The heaviest local concentrations are in Stockport, Manchester and Trafford.
