Since 2000 the A600 has seen 862 collisions, 14 of them fatal and 146 serious. That ranks it 584th of 6,754 numbered A, B and M roads by total recorded collisions. Its fatal rate is 16.2 per 1,000 collisions, and 19% caused death or serious injury. Collisions have risen by about 25% since 2000, from 24 to 30 in 2024. The heaviest local concentrations are in Bedford, Central Bedfordshire and North Hertfordshire.
