Since 2000 the A608 has seen 1,135 collisions, 12 of them fatal and 202 serious. That ranks it 430th of 6,754 numbered A, B and M roads by total recorded collisions. Its fatal rate is 10.6 per 1,000 collisions, and 19% caused death or serious injury. Collisions have fallen by about 54% since 2000, from 59 to 27 in 2024. The heaviest local concentrations are in Amber Valley, Ashfield and Broxtowe.
