Crashes on the A65

Since 2000 the A65 has seen 3,584 collisions, 98 of them fatal and 723 serious. That ranks it 103rd of 6,754 numbered A, B and M roads by total recorded collisions. Its fatal rate is 27.3 per 1,000 collisions, and 23% caused death or serious injury. Collisions have fallen by about 63% since 2000, from 249 to 92 in 2024. The heaviest local concentrations are in Leeds, North Yorkshire and Westmorland and Furness.
