Since 2000 the A75 has seen 1,166 collisions, 66 of them fatal and 274 serious. That ranks it 411th of 6,754 numbered A, B and M roads by total recorded collisions. Its fatal rate is 56.6 per 1,000 collisions, and 29% caused death or serious injury. Collisions have fallen by about 20% since 2000, from 54 to 43 in 2024. The heaviest local concentrations are in Dumfries and Galloway and North Lanarkshire.
